RIVERTON — Two people have been arrested on suspicion of releasing a pepper spray-like substance in a Walmart, prompting an evacuation the store.
Unified Police Department Lt. Justin Hoyal says about 80 people were treated at the scene and three people were sent to local hospitals after the incident late Saturday afternoon in Riverton.
After releasing photos of the 20-year-old suspects, police received a tip Saturday night that they were at a certain location in Herriman.
Jordan Crane of Herriman and Madison Durrant of Riverton were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
Crane was arrested on various charges, including felony counts of terroristic threats, causing a catastrophe, aggravated assault and obstructing justice.
Durrant was booked on a misdemeanor count of assault and a felony count of obstructing justice.
