BOULDER, Colo. -- Friends of renowned long-distance runner Micah True have spread some of the athlete's ashes along the trails in a Boulder park.

The Daily Camera (http://bit.ly/PkjkSx ) reports about 20 people gathered at Chautauqua Park on Friday to remember the Boulder ultrarunner, who rose to fame when he was featured in the best-selling book "Born to Run."

True's body was found in southwestern New Mexico on March 31 after he failed to return from a routine run. An autopsy determined the 58-year-old died of heart disease.

His girlfriend, Maria Walton, says now, with his ashes spread on Boulder's trails, everyone can still run with him.

True — nicknamed "Caballo Blanco," or white horse — has been described by friends as a pioneer of ultrarunning, which involves running extreme distances, often on grueling terrain.
