SALT LAKE CITY — Firefighters are working to contain a wildfire started by target shooters on West Mountain over the weekend.
A fire spokeswoman says the blaze, which has burned 350 acres, was started Saturday evening on the west side of the mountain.
Bureau of Land Management spokeswoman Cami Lee says an astronomy observatory on top of the mountain was evacuated as a precaution, but no structures are threatened.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports crews hope to have the fire completely contained by Monday night.
